Search Engine Optimization is much more that entering in a bunch of keywords on a page.

First step is to come up with a broad keyword list and check out what your competitors are doing for their keywords.

  1. Provide a list of keywords and phrases you feel are important. Prioritize them.
  2. List your top 3-5 competitors  (we will look at their source code and do a competitive analysis).
  3. How do your clients search for you online? What words and phrases do they use?
  4. What locations do you want to concentrate on?
  5. What main services/ products do you want to focus on?
  6. Do you have any information from Google Analytics that will show us keywords you are currently getting found on? What pages on your site are your visitors entering on?

When determining your on-page SEO strategy, we need to find out how your site is set up to decide which pages can be used for different keyphrases you want to rank high on.

*Remember you do not put everything on the same page. Each page is optimized for a different set of keywords.

  • Do you have a site map & XML site map?
  • Do you have a blog?
  • How is your site structure and navigation set-up?
  • Do you have any landing pages?
  • Are there images on your page and how have they been saved?
  • What other content rich sections do you have? FAQ section, articles, reviews?
  • Are these sections set up as one page or are they a “content type” that provides a summary page?
  • Are you aware about optimization in social communities such as YouYube, Facebook and LinkedIn?
  • If you have a location, have you signed up for Google Places and Yelp?

We will also ask you about your goals, more about your customers, your current online marketing to date, current inbound links, use of social media and your strategy for getting inbound links for your off-page optimization. Ranking high on the search engines is a combination of on page optimization and the popularity of your site resulting from inbound quality links and traffic.
