What is a Facebook Page
A Facebook profile is for personal use and your pages are for your business. From your personal profile you can set up a page or pages.

How to Get a Custom Name for Your Facebook Fan Page
After you sign up you will noticed that your url address for your fan page is a long string of numbers. This isn’t great for marketing purposes. After you get 25 fans, you can sign up to get a custom fan page name. You should get your friends to become fans soon so that you can reserve the name you want.

Other Things You Can Do With Your Facebook Page to Keep it Interesting & Fresh

  • Maximize your avatar picture on both your fan page and your profile (profile pictures on Facebook can have a maximum size of 200×600 pixels). Not now with the new pages layout that you may not want to have as tall of a picutre if you want the navigation on the left to be prominent.
  • Add custom tabs and pages including a welcome page. Many options exist now for customization within Facebook.  Everything is moving fast in Facebook so contact us for the latest features and apps.
  • Set your Welcome Page to be the default tab.
  • Optimize your facebook page.
  • Add in RSS feeds from your blog or other blogs to your wall.
  • Add Other tabs such as Vote Now, Events, Videos, Reviews, Photos,Twitter feeds
  • Upload interestng photos, images and videos.
  • Create interesting discussions and/or a contest.
  • Add facebook social graph plugins with like buttons to your website.

Remember that your facebook marketing is just one part of your integrated marketing strategy.  Often this stems from your blogging content strategy or specific promotional campaigns. Note: Do not have your wall as the fan page default tab. Its better to have users land on a friendly, welcoming page you create rather than show up on a wall of comments that are not always in your control. Also watch for duplicate content from RSS feeds. Make sure that you keep things interesting with adequate frequency. Watch out for excessive frequency of posts that get annoying. If you notice fans dropping of, this could be the reason.
